Birthday Fun Was Had.

I mentioned it was my husband's birthday the other day. Thought I would share what I gave to him. It was also a late Father's Day gift.. we both found it sort of weird getting Mother's Day and Father's Day gifts for each other this year... with the baby in my belly, ya know... 

It was complete with stick on mustaches, Dad's Old Fashioned Rootbeer, a "breast"Milky Way, Pop Rocks, a popcorn bowl, and a York Peppermint Daddy (his fav drink and candy turned out to be pretty punny :) ) I also got him this book, which he has already started enjoying.

We also went to see the new Superman movie with friends. It was a good day!

Happy Birthday to My Man.

Today is my bearded husband's birthday. Thought I would include a picture of said beard.

He is 24 today. I was realllly hoping to give him his firstborn for his birthday. So far.. no such luck. I am so thankful that the Lord created him. And for his love and leadership in my life.

The Lord is teaching my impatient heart all about contentment. His ways are far beyond mine and I know that his timing for Ruthie's debut is perfect. I will trust and hold onto that. Especially while I am twiddling my thumbs in anticipation.

Not even sure where to start.

I guess I will share that I in no way believe that I have anything amazing or life changing to share (besides the Gospel. Can I get an AMEN?!). I just want to remember these sweet days ahead of me. We are about to close the  chapter of our first year of marriage and begin the chapter of our first year of parenthood. Like...weeks (hopefully days!) away from meeting our sweet Ruth Elizabeth. I hope to be able to look back on this blog and not only see her physical growth, but also the spiritual growth of the Rummages.
